How to check the status of your stimulus payment now

If you are one of the millions of Americans that can expect a stimulus payment, the IRS has opened a portal where you can check the status of your payment.

The portal allows for the following:

  • The ability to check your payment status;
  • Confirm your payment type (direct deposit or check information); and
  • The ability to update your banking information, if you do not have it on file.

If you moved since you filed your last tax return, note the IRS provides instructions to update your information. You can utilize the link here to update your mailing address.

Do you have questions about whether you qualify? Check out my recent post – “Who will and will not receive the stimulus payment?”

It is my hope you and your family are well during this time. Please continue to pray Psalm 91 for protection during this time.

Take care, and God bless.

  1. What if you have one spouse receive Social Security Retirement and the other spouse works and does not receive Social Security Benefits, and the couple filed jointly? Secondly, what if you had your taxes filed through H&R Block and you had to pay Federal Income Taxes & Received a Louisiana State Tax Refund in your bank account. Will the IRS use the Bank Account Information from the Louisiana State Tax Refund received, or even though you did not receive a Federal Tax Refund does H&R Block automatically report the Bank Account Information to IRS. If so you do not need to send IRS your Bank Information & you should receive your $2400 couple stimulus payment in the bank account you received the state tax refund was received in.

    I received my social security on a direct deposit card, so do I have to still supply my checking account to get my stimulas payment?

  3. I logged onto IRS.gov/ stimulus. Click on to where’s my refund? Put in my info and it told me ” Payment Status Not Available”. Why is this happening to me and so many others that I know? Please reply/comment… Thanking you in advance

  4. I received my stimulus money but my minors dependents who are my flesh and blood who live with me and no one claims them did not receive their $500 each. I tried several times to get on the irs.gov to fix this problem and with no success. I’m a single parent with low income always claimed my children every year with zero problems with direct deposit over several years with the same bank. Why isn’t my kids receiving their stimulus?

      If they are not under the age of 17 on the tax return utilized for the stimulus, you will not received the additional $500 per child. In addition, if they are not claimed on the return, then you will not receive the payment.
