SSI recipients and others must act by Wed to receive the additional $500!

Please pass on!

The IRS has issued an alert for those receiving Social Security retirement, Railroad Retirement benefits, Supplemental Security Income, and Veterans Affairs benefits. While these individuals are NOT required to file a tax return to obtain their stimulus payments of $1,200, they may have to take an extra step!

For those who fall into this category AND have qualified dependents, they will need to act by noon Wednesday, April 22, 2020, to receive the additional $500 for each eligible dependent. These individuals are highly encouraged to go to the IRS portal and enter their information. Since these individuals are not required to file, the IRS does not have a record of their dependents on file. This tool will enable the IRS to process payments for their dependents to receive the additional stimulus payment.
